Derwyn Goodall, associate

Derwyn graduated from York University in 1983 with a BFA, Specialized Honours in Visual Communication Design. Derwyn has taught at his alma mater since 1992 and currently teaches at the Ontario College of Art & Design (OCAD). In 1998, he contributed his expertise in the establishment of the RGD (Registered Graphic Designers) accreditation examination, which is seen today as the benchmark for professional standards and ethics in the graphic design industry. He has also been a professional advisor for Sheridan College’s student graduating class assessment program since 1996.

Derwyn has over 20 years experience in corporate communications and joined A+a in 2003. His responsibilities and experience include strategic, conceptual and design development for brand identities, annual reports, brochures, packaging, websites and ephemera for a diverse range of clients in many market sectors. Derwyn has designed projects for some of Canada’s most recognizable corporate names including The Federal Ministry of Heritage, Canada Post, Hydro One, Barrick Gold, Onex Corporation, Sun Life Financial, Clarica and Canadian Tire.

Derwyn’s design work has been recognized both locally and internationally by Graphis Press, The Advertising and Design Club of Canada, Applied Arts Magazine, the ARC Awards (NY), the AR100, the Financial Post and the New York Type Director’s Club.
